One of CASA’s most valuable member benefits is our proactive presence at the state capitol. Throughout the year, our legislative team identifies issues that could impact clean water agencies and works with internal and external stakeholders to resolve them. Through our State Legislative Committee, CASA takes positions on numerous pieces of legislation on issues that include local government, funding, infrastructure, water quality, water supply, recycled water, and much more. CASA develops comment letters on priority bills, testifies before Committees, sponsors legislation, and works with our association, agency and NGO partners. We also ensure that our state legislative priorities and agenda coincide with our regulatory and legal advocacy programs as well as our federal legislative advocacy. Through our efforts, CASA serves as the local wastewater community’s voice in Sacramento.
